New AniMakerspace

On March 15th, 2022, the Val Verde Unified School District hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for its AniMakerspace at Val Verde Elementary School. AniMakerspaces are designed to facilitate high levels of project-based learning opportunities that emulate the real world of work by promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, fostering 21st Century Skills, and creating opportunities for product design and development through advanced technologies and manufacturing.

In an effort to stay future-ready, the Val Verde Unified School District in collaboration with Garner Holt’s Education Through Imagination delivered AniMakerspace to our excited Val Verde Elementary School students. We are thrilled to be the first and only school district in Riverside County to have this technology in our school. We were honored to have special guest Garner Holt join us at Val Verde Elementary School for the historical grand opening.

Superintendent Michael R. McCormick states, “We are thrilled to partner with Garner Holt to make our Portrait of a Graduate come to life through STEAM with a focus on communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. We can’t wait to see what the students create.”

S.T.E.A.M. is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics as access points for guiding student dialogue and critical thinking.

The Val Verde Unified School District would like to thank Garner Holt for making this project a reality. As a district, we are always finding new innovative ways to ensure our students are future-ready.
