New Year Message from Mayor Ulises Cabrera

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

As 2022 comes to a close, I am reflecting on all the incredible things we have done to make Moreno Valley a fantastic place to live and thrive.

It’s no secret this past year was among the best and most productive in Moreno Valley’s history. We devoted tens of millions of dollars toward the further beautification of our city and laid the foundation for a brighter city to rise in 2023.

Our historic $50 million Pavement Rehabilitation Program continues to refurbish our roads throughout Moreno Valley. Once this program is completed, nearly 190 miles of road—from large boulevards to neighborhood streets—will be revamped to like-new condition.

I am also excited about the upcoming $6 million Parks Renovation & Rehabilitation Program, which will provide crucial upgrades to every park in Moreno Valley, including repaved parking lots, new playgrounds, revamped restrooms, and much more. It’s one way we’re making sure our parks continue to be places of joy and fun for decades to come.

We also opened Santiago Park, our 33rd park, and expanded our Juan Bautista de Anza multi-use trail, opening a segment from El Potrero Park to Lake Perris. And our quarterly Beautify MoVal Community Day of Service continues to be the gold standard of community clean-up events in Riverside County.

We bolstered our public safety services by devoting $5.5 million toward hiring more motor deputies, a Fire Medic Squad, and more. We also set aside $4.4 million toward expanding our Moreno Valley Senior Center, so our seniors can have more space to thrive.

Exciting new businesses opened across our city, including Raising Cane’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Car Pros Kia, and more. And with the opening of the Courtyards at Cottonwood and the groundbreaking of the Continental Villages, we have provided more housing for Moreno Valley residents of all income levels.

Together, we accomplished so much this year. But I believe 2023 is going to be even better.

We have a lot to look forward to in Moreno Valley, and our residents are the reason why. Together, we’re going into 2023 with a renewed sense of purpose to affirm Moreno Valley’s status as the city Where Dreams Soar.

From all of us at the City of Moreno Valley, Happy New Year!
