The City of Moreno Valley’s Parks and Community Services Department is now accepting childcare applications for A Child’s Place, an after-school program designed for children ages four years and nine months to 12 years.

A Child’s Place provides a safe and engaging environment where children receive educational enrichment workshops, homework assistance, recreational activities, and a daily nutritious snack. On non-school days, meals are provided. The program is offered at the following school sites:

  • Armada Elementary, located at 25201 John F Kennedy Dr
  • Creekside Elementary, located at 13563 Heacock Street
  • Sunnymead Elementary, located at 24050 Dracaea Avenue
  • Rainbow Ridge Elementary, located at 15950 Indian Street

“Getting an early start is vital to future academic success,” said Moreno Valley Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “I encourage parents to enroll their children and take full advantage of this program and its helpful resources.”

To qualify, parents or caregivers must be working, attending school or vocational training, or seeking employment. Based on household income and size, the program is offered free of charge or at a reduced monthly rate.

During the school year, the program operates from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. During seasonal school breaks, including summer, winter, and spring, the program operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To apply, or for more information, call Georgina Toruno-Lundberg, Childcare Program Manager at 951.413.3286, or via email at achildsplace@moval.org
