Riverside Unified held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Casa Blanca Elementary School, inviting local leaders and community members involved in the planning and development of the facility.

The rebuilding of Casa Blanca Elementary School has been 56 years in the making, with the original school being closed in 1967. The official name was approved at the November 18, 2021, RUSD Board of Education Meeting.

Casa Blanca Elementary will be the learning grounds for approximately eight hundred children. It will be located at 7351 Lincoln Ave. between Villegas Park and the Sergeant Salvador J. Lara Casa Blanca Library.

The facility will include ancillary and support buildings, classrooms, play areas and outdoor learning and shared spaces for Transitional Kindergarten through sixth grade students.

"This new elementary school represents a commitment to the education and future of our community," said Dr. Angelo Farooq, RUSD Board President. "I would like to extend gratitude to our Riverside community for overwhelmingly supporting the passage of Measure O bond to finance this school, and the Casa Blanca Community Action Group for your unwavering support throughout the planning process."

Casa Blanca Elementary School is anticipated to open in August 2025. To learn more about the project and keep updated on the progress of construction, visit: bit.ly/CasaBlancaElementary
