Snow fell on the San Bernardino Valley College campus Saturday afternoon. The SBVC men's basketball team used a stingy defense to keep Saddleback College on ice as the Wolverines knocked off the Bobcats 77-45 in the second round of the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs.

SBVC held the Bobcats to only 31.4 percent shooting for the game while forcing 13 Saddleback turnovers. The Wolverines shut down Saddleback in the second half, holding the Bobcats to only 16 points in the last 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, the SBVC offense was doing its job, opening an 11-point lead at the half, and then widening their lead throughout the second half.

Dominique Daniels spent the early part of the game dishing the ball to his teammates, going to the break with 13 points and seven assists. He finished the game with 29 points and nine assists. One of his favorite targets was co-captain Armon Muldrew, who finished with 20 points (on 7-of-13 shooting) and five rebounds.

Saddleback not only struggled from the field - they finished 16-of-51 shooting - but from the free throw line. The Bobcats only made 8 of 21 chances from the stripe. Jimuel Reyes led the Bobcats with 15 points and five rebounds.

The No. 4-seeded Wolverines will host No. 12-seeded Pasadena City College, which upset No. 5-seeded San Diego Miramar 72-60 Saturday.
