On Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 4:00 P.M., the Moreno Valley Master Chorale, directed by Dr. Viorel Gheorghe, will perform a concert featuring many of the most popular songs written in the 20th century. The event will be the last concert for the Chorale’s 2022-23 season and will be held at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 11650 Perris Blvd., Moreno Valley, CA 92557.

The music for this light-hearted romp will cover the decades from 1900 to 1990 and will include several favorite show tunes from such famous musicals as “Phantom of the Opera,” “Oklahoma,” “Urban Cowboy,” and many more. Several of our Chorale soloists will be singing and, of course, “The Bach Street Boyz” will again be entertaining the audience with one of their hilarious musical spoofs based on the Beach Boys’ hit song, “California Girls.”

Our seasoned Chorale soloists, Stephanie Steele, Steve Hinde, and Bethany Wilson, will sing: Stephen Sondheim’s, “On the Steps of the Palace;” Jerome Kern’s, “Ol’ Man River, and “Can’t Help Lovin’ ‘Dat’ Man.” In addition, we will be entertained with an original violin medley of show tunes compiled by Brian Thiebaux, as well as the premiere performance of “A Father’s Meditation,” a piano solo composed by the late Richard Janiga, and orchestrated by our director, Dr. Viorel Gheorghe. All the music pieces will be accompanied by our talented pianist, Jonathan Keplinger.

Tickets (cash only) may be purchased at the door. Ticket prices for adults are $15.00 and for seniors are $10.00. Students are free with ID. For “Will Call” tickets, or more information, call (951) 485-8414, (951) 242-4963, or go to: www.morenovalleymasterchorale.org. You can also find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MVMCconcerts.
