The Moreno Valley Master Chorale Presents: Music Classics for the Easter Season

On Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 4:00 P.M., the Moreno Valley Master Chorale and Orchestra will present its spring concert: “Music Classics for the Easter Season.” The event will be held at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 11650 Perris Blvd., Moreno Valley, CA, 92557. This performance will include several works by Joseph Haydn, as well as his well-known “Missa Brevis St. Joannis de Deo.” Many beautiful songs from Felix Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” oratorio will also be sung, including “Lift Thine Eyes” with three-part women’s voices. To round out the program the Chorale will perform “Panis Angelicus,” “L’ Ange Gardien,” and “God is my Salvation” by César Franck.

Featured soloists for this concert will be Dr. Camelia Voin, famous lyric coloratura soprano, and Stephanie Steele, mezzo-soprano. Camelia and Stephanie will sing two duets, and Camelia will perform a solo in, Auf Flügeln des Gesanges (On Wings of Song) by Felix Mendelssohn.

The Chorale will be accompanied by the Lyric Symphony Chamber Orchestra directed by Dr. Viorel Gheorghe. Featured orchestra members will be Todor Pelev, concert violinist, Rick Olson on oboe, Ana Maria Maldonado on cello, and Jonathan Keplinger on piano and organ.

Tickets (cash only) may be purchased at the door or ordered by phone. Ticket prices are: Adults, $15.00; Seniors, $10.00. For this concert, we are offering students free admission if they show their school ID. Please save the date for our last pops concert of the year which will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. at the venue listed above. This concert will feature several Chorale soloists and include many favorite show tunes. Be sure to check our website for more information. We welcome any new singers who wish to join us for this pops concert. Rehearsals will begin 7:00-9:00 P.M. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 11650 Perris Blvd. in Moreno Valley.
