The Valley View High School girls water polo team capped their amazing run in the CIF tournament with a runner-up performance. The team fought hard against Roosevelt on Saturday in Irvine during the Division 5 CIF Southern Section championship. In the end, Roosevelt won 12-8.

Hailey Allbee scored three goals to lead Valley View, and Yesenia Herrera had 11 saves.

Coached by Chris Knowles, Valley View was seeking to become only the 4th Inland Empire school to win boys and girls CIF championships in the same year.

“We are extremely proud of this team,” said Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora, “This team exemplifies our district with their commitment and determination to succeed. They are champions to us and our community.”
