Class of 2017 offered a new record of $63 million in scholarships!

The Moreno Valley Unified Class of 2017 has nearly doubled the total worth of college scholarships offered to the Class of 2016, bringing home a total of nearly $63 million in scholarships and grants offered, a new district record. Last year’s record amount was $35 million. “We have been aggressive about getting our college-bound students to apply for college assistance by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA),” said Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora. “And we’re also helping students apply to more colleges.” The Class of 2017 is taking that scholarship assistance with them as they fan out to colleges all over California and in 28 other states, as far-flung as Rhode Island, Georgia, Montana, Maine, Washington, New York, and the District of Columbia. “Our graduates are being actively recruited by colleges all over California and America,” said MVUSD School Board President Cleveland Johnson. “That says a lot about their academic achievement here at MVUSD, and about their potential for success at college and beyond. We’re very proud of the Class of 2017.”
