High school students often say that learning is fun when it Is relevant and when they can see how it is applied in the real world.
It does not get any more “real world” than saving lives, which is why the Riverside County Office of Education/CTE Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program is popular.
The program is offered at Vista del Lago High School for high school seniors from across the district. Students enroll in a 318-hour program that consists of rigorous classroom instruction, skills laboratory, and clinical and field internships with Advanced Life Support Paramedic units and emergency rooms throughout Riverside County.
Upon passing the National Registry of EMTs Exam, students are certified as EMTs in the State of California. Interested students should contact their counselor.
