As part of MVUSD’s commitment to increase student achievement, specifically in math, science and reading, each school in the district is holding a Family Math Night and Family Literacy Night.

The evenings offer parents and students the chance to learn together, while also having fun. So far, about 30 schools have had successful math nights. Most schools will hold literacy nights during the spring semester.

At Seneca Elementary School, students “powered up” their math skills at a superhero themed Family Math Night. Students engaged in games that included skills in multiplication, addition, STEAM, and more all while dressed as their favorite superheroes. Students had a chance to win a raffle by visiting math stations during the fun and educational event.

Midland Elementary School also held a superhero themed math night where students dressed as superheroes while enjoying math activities. Each student attending the evening received a gift bag, and there were raffle prizes given at each session.

Creekside Elementary School’s science night was supported by Abbott Technology. Families at Creekside were able to observe projects and participate in hands-on activities.
