The "M" Will Shine Again

"The Famous Landmark "M" which rests on the side of Box Springs Mountain will shine again starting June 28th 2014, until July 7th 2014," says James C. Baker II, who serves as the City's Park & Recreation Commission Chairman. The countdown has started to have our "M" shine as never before in Moreno Valley's history. At 8:30 p.m., everyone who is watching in Moreno Valley and surrounding cities as far as Perris, will be able to see the "M" shine and glow until 1 a.m. "This also is a great way to Celebrate the City's 30th Anniversary as well as the 4th of July," Baker says. "We are still proud of our city and we want to inspire and celebrate our country, our city, and our residents, who have gone through so much these past few years. Moreno Valley still stands strong as a great Inland Empire city. Nothing can or will stop Moreno Valley from moving forward." So get to a parking lot, a park, the mall or even a lounge chair in your own front yard on June 28th, at 8 p.m., and get ready for the unveiling. The actual "light" design will be kept secret until it is unveiled. Last year in November, the "M" was cleaned and repainted by volunteers lead by Baker, followed by a surprise holiday lighting in December. Happy Anniversary Moreno Valley and a Happy 4th of July to all. This is a community project funded by private donations. All donations can be sent or dropped at the Visterra Credit Union Offices. Make checks payable to "M" Landmark Improvement Project. Visterra's address is PO Box 9500 Moreno Valley Ca. 92552 Visterra's website is www.visterracu.org; phone 951-656-4411. If you need to use a credit/debit card, contact Mr. Baker at 714-420-6644.
