Cafe Rio Mexican Grill opened the doors to their new Moreno Valley location on the morning of Dec. 6th, to a packed house. Hungry patrons started lining up well before 8:00am in anticipation of their opening ceremonies, which included a $2,500 check presentation to the Moreno Valley Unified School District, a ribbon cutting with the Moreno Valley Chamber and their traditional “large burrito” cutting. The popular restaurant, known for their fresh, made from scratch meals, has been packed for lunch and dinner ever since. The Moreno Valley Cafe Rio, located at 12560 Day St., marks their 19th California location and 114th location nationally.

Cafe Rio has continued to expand their loyal customer fan base by serving delicious Mexican cuisine using only the freshest ingredients. For over 20 years, Cafe Rio has prided themselves by adhering to a strict “no freezer and no microwaves” policy in each restaurant. Cafe Rio starts their extensive cooking processes every morning, including rolling freshly made dough for each tortilla, squeezing over a thousand limes a day, hand scooping every avocado and simmering their secret sauces, which take hours to make. Their new Moreno Valley restaurant highlights an open, marketplace style kitchen, which brings the “behind the scenes” action into full view for their guests.

“We couldn’t be happier about opening a location in Moreno Valley,” states Todd Smith, Chief Marketing Officer of Cafe Rio Mexican Grill. “The outpouring of local support has been incredible! We welcome everyone to come try our fresh, made to order Mexican meals at our new location!”

Cafe Rio has won hundreds of awards, including the coveted title of “#1 Mexican Restaurant in the Nation” from Sandelman & Associates for eight consecutive years. FastCasual.com recently selected Cafe Rio Mexican Grill as one of the top brands in its annual list of Top 100 Movers and Shakers. The company attributes these achievements and continued growth to their dedication in preparing the highest quality meals for their customers, while offering a unique dining experience.

Cafe Rio offers full catering services and fundraising opportunities for schools, sport teams, clubs and large groups at the new Moreno Valley location. F

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
