Groundbreaking Held for City's First Amphitheater

By The City of Moreno Valley

10/12/2018 at 03:26 PM

The City of Moreno Valley held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 3 to celebrate the beginning of construction on Moreno Valley’s first outdoor amphitheater and the continued expansion of arts and culture across the City.

The Civic Center Amphitheater and Park is a welcome addition to the City’s growing number of state-of-the-art cultural and athletic facilities, fulfilling a commitment by the Moreno Valley City Council through its strategic plan “Momentum MoVal” to expand cultural and recreational opportunities.

The 600-seat amphitheater will provide an intimate, open-air venue for Moreno Valley residents and visitors to enjoy a variety of live music performances, movies in the park and many other City-sponsored events.

Trees and park-like landscaping on the seven-acre lot set the scene while a stage complete with a backdrop, audio-visual pavilion, and parking for nearly 400 vehicles make the Civic Center Amphitheater and Park the region’s premier outdoor venue.

The amphitheater will be available to be rented out by the public, providing another exciting and convenient venue option for community groups and businesses.

The Civic Center Amphitheater and Park is being built next to the City's Conference and Recreation Center located at 14075 Frederick Street in Moreno Valley.
