MORENO VALLEY, CA -- Moreno Valley residents have a new, convenient way to help save lives as LifeStream Blood Bank expands its life-saving mission in the community. With a population of more than 215,000, Moreno Valley is uniquely positioned to support a successful local donor center, making it easier than ever for residents to give blood close to home.

“LifeStream’s long-standing commitment to service perfectly aligns with Moreno Valley’s values,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “Making blood donation more convenient for our residents empowers our community to play a direct role in saving lives in our own backyard and throughout the Inland Empire.”

“I am thrilled to have a LifeStream donation center located here in MoVal,” said District 1 Council Member Elena Baca-Santa Cruz. “My mother received several transfusions during her illness, so I witnessed first-hand the benefits of donating blood, and as a result, I often donate blood myself and encourage others to do so as well. It can give someone hope. It can offer someone a second chance. It can even save a life.”

LifeStream’s roots run deep in the Inland Empire. In fact, the City of Moreno Valley itself is 33 years younger than this organization. Founded in 1951 as a small community blood bank in San Bernardino, LifeStream will celebrate its 75th anniversary this summer, marking decades of service, growth, and commitment to regional health care.

Today, LifeStream operates 10 donor centers across Southern California, partners with more than 85 hospitals, and employs over 400 health care professionals.

Each blood donation can save up to three lives, supporting patients undergoing cancer treatment, awaiting organ transplants, experiencing pregnancy complications, or recovering from serious accidents.

For many local donors, the ability to give blood without traveling to Riverside or San Bernardino removes a key barrier to participation. With a strong, community-centered donor base, Moreno Valley is poised to become a vital hub in LifeStream’s ongoing mission to deliver hope and healing, one donation at a time.
