The City of Grand Terrace has seen an increase in car accidents over recent months, raising concerns among residents and local officials. While the city has historically maintained relatively low traffic collision rates compared to surrounding areas, recent incidents are prompting officials to urge drivers and pedestrians to remain vigilant and prioritize safety.

City Officials Urge Safety Measures

In response to the growing concern, city officials are emphasizing the importance of responsible driving and pedestrian awareness. The City of Grand Terrace is reminding residents to take the following precautions:

• Avoid Distracted Driving: Refrain from using mobile devices, eating, or engaging in activities that take attention away from the road.

• Follow Speed Limits: Speeding is a leading cause of accidents and reduces reaction time.

• Watch for Pedestrians and Cyclists: Many accidents occur at intersections and crosswalks.

• Use Seat Belts: Always buckle up to reduce the risk of serious injury.

• Drive Sober: Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

A Community That Cares

Grand Terrace takes pride in being a close-knit community where residents look out for one another. As city officials and law enforcement work to improve traffic safety, residents are encouraged to do their part in keeping the roads safe for everyone

For more information on traffic safety initiatives or to report hazardous road conditions, residents are encouraged to contact the Grand Terrace City Hall or the local sheriff’s department.

By working together as a community, Grand Terrace can help reduce accidents and ensure that its streets remain safe for all.
